Disclaimer
What this website can and cannot tell you — and when to pick up the phone instead.
Everything on ConnectionCafe.com is written in good faith and kept as current as a small team can manage. It is general information, not a promise. Menus, prices, roast dates and room availability change faster than a website does, and our brewing notes are our opinion rather than professional advice. If a detail matters — an allergy, a dietary requirement, a specific coffee, a room on a particular night — please confirm it with us directly before you travel.
General information only
The pages on this site are published to help you decide whether to visit, what to order and where to stay. We check them regularly, but we cannot promise that everything is complete, accurate or up to date at the moment you read it. Nothing here forms part of a contract until we have confirmed a booking with you in writing, and our terms and conditions set out what does.
Menus, prices and opening hours
The menu on this site is the menu we intend to serve. It is not a guarantee that a particular dish or coffee will be on the counter when you arrive. Produce is seasonal, pastries sell out, suppliers let us down, and prices move when our costs do. Our published opening hours are the normal ones; we close for bank holidays, private hires and the odd staff day, and we post those on the contact page and our social channels when we know about them.
If you are travelling specially for something, please ring us on +44 20 7946 0958 or email hello@connectionscafes.com first. We would far rather spend a minute on the phone than have you cross London for a coffee we sold out of on Saturday.
Coffee, roast dates and availability
We roast on Tuesdays and we aim to serve nothing older than twelve days off roast, with two rotating single origins on filter changed every fortnight. Those are our working standards, not a contractual guarantee for any individual cup or bag. Which origins are on the bar, the exact roast date of a retail bag, and whether the cold brew keg has just run dry all change through the week. The detail on our coffee and roastery page describes how we work, and tasting notes are a description of what we find in the cup, not a specification — palates differ, and so does water.
Room availability and rates
Room descriptions, sizes, rates and photographs on the stay pages are given as a guide. There are only eight rooms and they book quickly, so a rate shown on a page is not an offer of a room for any particular night. Availability and the price you pay are confirmed only in your booking confirmation email. Rooms in a converted Victorian building vary slightly in layout, light and acoustics; photographs show one room of a type and yours may differ in detail.
Allergens and dietary information
We take this seriously and we will always talk you through a dish. Allergen and dietary information on this site is given in good faith and reviewed when recipes change, but recipes and suppliers do change, and the website may not reflect a swap made that morning.
Our kitchen is small and open-plan. We handle wheat flour, dairy, nuts and sesame every day, in one prep space, with shared equipment. We cannot guarantee that any dish or drink is free from traces of an allergen, and we cannot describe anything as coeliac-safe however it is prepared. Vegan options are marked and oat milk is stocked as standard, but marking is about ingredients we add, not about the environment they are made in.
If you have an allergy or intolerance, always speak to the person serving you before you order, and tell us when you book a room so breakfast can be planned. Do not rely on this website alone. Broader guidance is published by the Food Standards Agency.
Brewing guides and coffee advice
The recipes, ratios, grind settings and opinions in our journal come from our own bar and our own roaster. They are what works for us, on our water, with our equipment, and they are offered as experience rather than expertise you should rely on commercially. Your kettle, your grinder and your water will all shift the result — treat our numbers as a starting point and adjust to taste. Nothing in the journal is professional, technical or business advice, and we accept no liability for a batch that does not work out.
Not health, nutritional or dietary advice
Nothing on this site is medical, nutritional or dietary advice, and none of it should replace guidance from a qualified professional. Caffeine content varies considerably with the coffee, the grind, the brew method and the size of the cup — two espressos from the same bag will not be identical, and a long filter can carry more caffeine than a double shot. If you are pregnant, managing a health condition, or sensitive to caffeine, please take advice from your GP or midwife and ask us about decaf, which we keep on the bar all day.
Photography on this site
Photographs are used to show the character of the cafe, the roastery and the rooms. Some are of our own premises; others are licensed library photographs chosen because they represent what we do. Dishes and drinks shown may be seasonal, may have been changed, or may no longer be on the menu at all. Food styling, portion size and garnish will differ from the plate you are served, and interiors change as we move furniture and replace equipment. Images are illustrative, never a specification.
Reviews, ratings and testimonials
Guest comments quoted on this site are genuine and used with permission, and our guest rating is drawn from the review platforms where our guests leave feedback. They describe one person's visit on one day. Another visit, another table, another barista — the experience varies, and a quoted review is not a promise of what yours will be like.
External links
Where we link to another organisation — a transport operator, a trade body, a supplier, a regulator — we do it because we think the page is useful. Those sites are not under our control. A link is not an endorsement of the organisation, its products, its opinions or its privacy practices, and we are not responsible for their content or for anything that happens when you follow one. Check their terms before you rely on them. Travel details in particular should be confirmed with the operator: Transport for London is the place to check before you set out, not this page.
Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, we accept no liability for any loss or damage arising from reliance on information published on ConnectionCafe.com, or from the site being unavailable. This does not affect the liability we cannot lawfully exclude — including for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, for fraud, or for your statutory rights as a consumer. The full position is set out in our terms and conditions.
Telling us about a mistake
If you spot something on this site that is wrong, out of date or unclear, please tell us. Email hello@connectionscafes.com or use the contact form — corrections usually reach the live site within a day or two, and we would genuinely rather know.
